Job Summary:
CDS Office Technologies is the premier Managed Technology Services Provider in the Midwest, and they are looking to add to their ever-growing team of IT professionals. As a Tier 1 IT Field Engineer, you will provide onsite IT support for computers and end users, assisting with network and server troubleshooting while ensuring clients’ technology environments run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
• Provide onsite support for computer hardware, software, and end-user inquiries
• Troubleshoot basic network and server issues in coordination with the Regional IT Service Manager
• Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver effective and efficient solutions
• Maintain thorough documentation of client environments and work performed
• Deliver excellent customer service and always maintain a professional demeanor
Qualifications:
Required:
• Basic understanding of Windows-based environments (desktop and server)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, general computer hardware, and software troubleshooting
• Strong communication skills with a customer-centric approach
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Valid driver’s license required
• Comfortable driving a company car to visit client sites
Preferred:
• Prior experience in a helpdesk or field support role
• Entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+)
• Relevant degrees or certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are preferred, but proven experience can substitute for formal education
