Job description

The E&I Maintenance Technician, reporting to the E&I Lead and the Maintenance Supervisor, will provide service to inspect and calibrate process instrumentation, troubleshoot electrical equipment, and support repairs and replacement of equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carry out routine preventative maintenance calibrations and inspections to insure minimal disruption to the production process.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the site.

Sets up, replace, and install process instrumentation with minimal supervision.

Provide insight and feedback from assigned work.

Complete equipment history information files to document technical issues.

Document mechanical or electrical problems that may disrupt the production process.

Communicate with process operators and productions shift supervisors on equipment status.

Utilize time to keep up routine cleaning of your work area consistent with CP Kelco's cGMP Policy.

Proper use of Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) conforming to cGMP standards.

Demonstrate effective teamwork behavior, promotion of process efficiency, and effectively communicate safety and procedural issues with coworkers and supervisor. Punctuality, good attendance, and the ability to adjust to a variety of assignments.

Employee must have personal hand tools.

DESIRED WORK EXPERIENCES:

Experience troubleshooting PLCs, motor controls, field instrumentation, control loops, and transmitters.

Working knowledge of regulatory and industry standards of electrical equipment

Ability to complete general maintenance work in the instrumentation, control, and electrical areas.

Minimum 7 years prior employment experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment

Manufacturing and food industry experience

Ability to understand Input and Output addressing in Logic Controllers.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Read and understand electrical schematic drawings, instrument loop diagrams and P&ID's

Good knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SAP, PI and CADD

Possesses mathematics and English language reading skills for technical publications and general instructions.

High school diploma/GED

Valid CA driver's license

Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of employees in a manufacturing facility.

Exceptional verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of electrician apprenticeship

ISA or CWEA certification

AS degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

All employees must follow CP Kelco, state, and federal guidelines concerning safety and environmental protection.

PPE includes a minimum of a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety-toed footwear, gloves, pants, and long-sleeve shirt (All provided by the Company).

Must be capable of operating forklifts, trucks, scissor-lifts.

Access can require climbing, crawling, reaching, and stooping.

Equipment locations make it necessary for the mechanics to stand, sit, walk and climb.
