Registered Nurse – Periprocedural Anticoagulation Management

Scheduled weekly hours: 36

Location: 1st Floor Legacy Building | La Crosse, WI FTE: 0.9 FTE | 72 hours per two weeks Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM | Rotating days off, no weekends, holidays, or call obligations Starting pay: $31.98/hour (higher based on experience) + comprehensive benefits

As a Periprocedural Anticoagulation RN, you'll play a vital role in preparing patients anticoagulation plan for surgeries and procedures. This position will have the opportunity to cross train to preadmissions and focus on patient education and coordination rather than hands-on care, making it ideal for nurses who excel in organization and interpersonal communication.

What you'll do:

  • Provide periprocedural anticoagulation plan management
  • Collaborate with providers (MDs and APCs) for complex cases.
  • Conduct phone calls and to review pre-op plans and instructions, verify medications, and ensure chart accuracy.
  • Work closely with multiple departments, including OR, surgery clinics, preadmissions, pharmacy, and social work.
  • Participate in department-based projects and cross-training opportunities (preadmission)
  • This position is based with La Crosse, with option to work out of the Onalaska SSB building.

What we're looking for:

Must-have:

  • Associate degree in nursing (minimum)
  • Active RN license in Wisconsin
  • Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider CPR

Preferred:

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience, preferably in surgical, perioperative, or med/surg areas
  • Ability to work across multiple specialties and navigate complex organizational structures
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to manage workload and delegate effectively
  • Adaptability and situational awareness to meet patient needs over the phone
  • Proactive, collaborative attitude
