Temporary Part-Time Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant

Looking for a flexible opportunity to put your veterinary skills to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment? PetHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to help support our growing urgent care team as we welcome new team members.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the excitement of urgent care, thrives in a collaborative setting, and wants to make an immediate impact on patient care.
Schedule
This temporary part-time position is expected to work weekends plus one to two weekdays each week.

What We're Looking For
We're ideally seeking candidates with emergency or urgent care experience, as we need experienced support staff who can confidently jump into our fast-paced environment-especially on weekends.
Because we're welcoming new team members, we're looking for someone who requires minimal training and is comfortable adapting quickly. However, we also recognize that experience isn't everything. If you're newer to the field but have an exceptional attitude, are eager to learn, adaptable, and motivated, we'd still love to hear from you. Why This Opportunity?
While this is being hired as a temporary position, we don't have a defined end date. As long as you're a great fit for the team and patient volume supports the hours, we'd love to keep you on. During slower seasonal periods, hours may transition to an as-needed or call-in basis before increasing again as patient volume picks back up.
Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with urgent care appointments and treatments
  • Safely restrain patients for examinations and procedures
  • Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records
  • Collect and process laboratory samples
  • Prepare medications and assist with treatments
  • Support radiology, nursing, and pharmacy duties
  • Maintain a clean, organized treatment area
  • Provide compassionate patient care and exceptional client service
Qualifications
  • Previous veterinary assistant experience required
  • Emergency or urgent care experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to adapt and learn
