Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure site, equipment, and facility processes meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Develop, document, and maintain technical specifications and performance requirements for UF6 (uranium hexafluoride) processing equipment.
  • Review vendor designs, drawings, and technical submittals to verify compliance with engineering requirements and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, safety, and compliance teams to support equipment integration and facility readiness.
  • Support procurement activities by providing technical input, evaluating vendor proposals, and assisting with supplier selection.
  • Participate in design reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
  • Identify risks, issues, and improvement opportunities related to equipment performance, installation, and facility interfaces.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
  • Experience working with vendors, suppliers, or contractors to support equipment, facility, or process requirements.
  • Ability to develop and interpret engineering specifications, technical requirements, and design documentation.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, safety, procurement).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
  • Experience in chemical processing, nuclear, industrial manufacturing, or regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, testing, commissioning, or acceptance activities.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • This position will be onsite in Oak Ridge, TN.
  • Schedule is part-time OR full-time.
  • Monday – Friday 30 OR 40-hour week.
