Restaurant Host โ€“ Kaluz Restaurant

Part-Time or Full-Time | $14.00 per hour plus tips

At Kaluz, the guest experience begins before anyone reaches the table. Our Hosts create a polished and welcoming first impression by greeting guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating, and supporting the flow of service throughout the restaurant.

This role is ideal for someone who communicates confidently, stays organized in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in making every guest feel welcomed and cared for from arrival through departure.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As a Restaurant Host, you will:

  • Welcome guests promptly and provide a professional, friendly first impression.
  • Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and guest information using the restaurantโ€™s designated reservation system.
  • Provide accurate wait-time estimates and communicate updates to waiting guests.
  • Escort guests to their tables while following seating rotations and table-assignment procedures.
  • Coordinate with Servers and Managers to maintain balanced sections and efficient guest flow.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond accurately to questions regarding reservations, hours, directions, menus, and restaurant services.
  • Assist guests with reservation changes, special requests, and general questions.
  • Communicate relevant guest information and special accommodations to Managers and service team members.
  • Maintain organized menus, reservation materials, promotional items, and supplies at the host stand.
  • Keep the entrance, lobby, waiting area, and host station clean and presentable.
  • Monitor table availability and communicate seating needs to Servers, Managers, and support team members.
  • Assist with clearing, resetting, or preparing tables when needed to support service flow.
  • Thank guests as they leave and help create a positive final impression.
  • Follow company policies, guest-service standards, safety procedures, and established uniform and grooming requirements.
  • Complete assigned opening, closing, restocking, and side-work responsibilities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant host, hospitality, reception, or customer-service experience.
  • Experience using a restaurant reservation or table-management system.
  • Experience working in an upscale or high-volume restaurant environment.

Previous restaurant experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided.

Essential Physical and Work Requirements

This position regularly requires the employee to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
  • Frequently communicate with guests and team members in person and by telephone.
  • Bend, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Occasionally lift and carry menus, supplies, and other items weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Safely navigate the entrance, lobby, dining room, host station, and other active restaurant areas.
  • Work in an environment that may include elevated noise levels, changing temperatures, food allergens, and frequent interaction with guests and employees.
