Job description

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Founded in 2015, the company serves a collection of seven world-class owned venues and a client roster of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions, spanning four continents. 


The Operations Coordinator performs facility set-ups, tear-downs, clean-up, and routine building maintenance as scheduled. Light to moderate building maintenance is included in these requirements.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $13.00 - $15.00.

This position is based at Stormont Vail Events Center. The 80-acre site in the center of Topeka now known as the Stormont Vail Events Center has a long history of use for activities related to agriculture, farming, exhibitions, education, and entertainment. Stormont Vail Events Center is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena built in 1987 in Topeka, Kansas. Landon Arena, named for Kansas' elder statesman, Governor Alfred M. Landon (1887–1987), was built in 1987.


  • Performs routine to moderate tasks setting up facility inventory per instructions received from Operations Manager.
  • Supports Operations Staff with event work orders.
  • Assists with staffing events and interacts with clients in providing physical facility needs and custodial duties per event requirements.
  • Performs routine to moderate tasks maintaining facility floors, staging, risers, chairs, dasher boards, sport turf, and other event inventory as needed.
  • Performs moderate to difficult set-ups in livestock facilities and works around some livestock.
  • Performs clean-up tasks after events, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, dressing rooms, showers, and other backstage areas.
  • Safely operate forklift, skid loader, boom lift, or other equipment as needed.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must possess strong communication skills to interact with show managers, vendors, and the general public and temporary and part-time help.
  • Must have basic mathematical skills to assist in expediting physical facility inventory set­ups for events.
  • Experience in operation of a forklift, skid loader, boom lift, or other equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to listen and follow directions explicitly and be capable of working well as a part of a team as well as alone.
  • May work in extreme heat or cold and may work in dusty and enclosed environments.
  • Ability to work irregular hours is required as dictated by events.
  • Must be physically capable of heavy lifting of heavy objects often.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
