Hiring Range

$25.80 - $35.48/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, servicing, and preventive maintenance actions on all electrical distribution systems and associated facilities electrical equipment to include but not limited to: all emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, uninterrupted power source (UPS} systems, air compressors, Electrical Distribution Equipment, switches, pumps, valves, air handlers, lighting fixtures, transformers, and electrical motors throughout the facility. Maintains fire detection and fire suppression systems. Tests electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures using testing equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Ability to run and bend conduit as well as cutting, bending, threading, pulling, and running electrical wire. Subject to be scheduled on-call rotations on weekends and holidays, as well as responding to emergencies and disasters in person, if and when requested. Coordinates and assists with outside 3rd party contractors and sub-contractors as required to accomplish maintenance oversees to ensure compliance, may be expected to procure parts and services. The Electrician will also be expected to assist co-workers as required. Expected to work harmoniously with other departments, being proactive, exhibiting timely follow up, and participating on work teams/committees when opportunities present themselves.
What you will do
  • Responsible for Inspecting, trouble shooting, repairing, replacing all emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, uninterrupted power source (UPS} systems, air compressors, Electrical Distribution Equipment, switches, pumps, valves, air handlers, lighting fixtures, transformers, and electrical motors. Coordinates and assists with outside 3rd party contractors and sub-contractors as required to accomplish maintenance oversees to ensure compliance, may be expected to procure parts and services. Manage inventory and proper level of supplies and equipment to accomplish work orders. Test electrical circuits in wiring, equipment, or fixtures. Maintain and document Safety Committee and Compliance Regulations Reports.
  • Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance needs ensuring the beautification and upkeep of the Facility. Inspects and performs safety tests on a variety of electrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance inspections/tasks per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and document maintenance concerns/resolutions; providing action plans and status reports as needed. Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to the Maintenance Supervisor. Has a general knowledge of DNV, NFPA, AADMS, ADA, OSHA, local, state and federal codes, requirements or regulations and is in accordance with Riverside policies and procedures. Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, mask, hearing protection, and gloves as needed.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of work-related tools and equipment such as power saws, drills, air compressors, and various hand tools required. Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials, and work area. Maintains fire detection and fire suppression systems. Maintains and repairs outside lighting as appropriate.
  • Performs/Assists co-workers outside of related skill when required during manning short falls or in an Emergency situation to include but not limited to: General Facility Maintenance, Plumbing, and/or Heating/Air Conditioning work. Snow Removal. Assist other departments/units in times of Emergency and Disaster.

Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED, (Required) and
  • Program Graduate, One years completed of an approved apprenticeship program training (Required)
  • Program Graduate, Two years completed of an approved apprenticeship program training (Preferred)
  • Program Graduate, Graduate of a trade or vocational school with courses in electricity and blueprint reading (Preferred)

Experience
  • 3-4 years Electrician Experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Journeyman Electrician - Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation within 3 Years(Required) or
  • Master Electrician License - State Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (Required)
