Job description

Uuv Technician

NSI requires an Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) Technician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Program Office. The UUV Technician will build, integrate, and maintain UUV systems. The Technician must be mechanically inclined, able to work well with others, and experienced in assembling, inspecting, and troubleshooting vehicle components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical assembly and integration of UUV components.
  • Routing harnesses, mounting payloads, and sealing modules.
  • Performing electrical checks and functional testing with operators.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Supporting field tests, demos, and official events.
  • Maintaining build documentation and configuration records.

Location: Panama City Beach, FL

Education: Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of hands-on technical experience.

Experience: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble complex systems. Familiarity with UUV basics including power, telemetry, and sealing. Ability to document work clearly and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with open-architecture unmanned systems.
  • Prior support for field testing or deployment environments.

Working Conditions:

  • Field, lab and workshop environments
  • Must be able to lift and handle UUV system components.
  • **Travel required, will be working at sea

Security Clearance: Secret Clearance is required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
