Monitor Cassandra clusters, performance and capacity planning

Manage nodes of Datastax (Cassandra/SOLR) cluster

Cassandra cluster connectivity and security

Datastax Software installation and configuration

Datastax Software patches and upgrades

Using monitoring and management tools (e.g. DataStax OpsCenter)

Troubleshoot Cassandra/SOLR

Database backup and recovery

Disk space management

Automate manual tasks

Certification as Datastaxt Administrator or Developer

Experience in relational database.

Strong understanding of SQL in accessing and manipulating data

Strong understanding of system architecture.

Strong CQLSH skills

Experience with a variety of file formats (XML, JSON, unstructured data, etc.)

Experience in database performance tuning required

Experience in database upgrades required

Experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including: requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and production support

Understanding of Unix and Linux operating systems

Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
