Job Description
Weber State University seeks one tenure-track faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for the School of Accounting, Finance, & Taxation in the John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics beginning fall semester of 2027.
Immediate need in teaching in-person undergraduate and graduate financial accounting courses, with flexibility for future systems/data analytics courses.
The Goddard School and the School of Accounting, Finance & Taxation are each accredited by the AACSB.
The School of Accounting, Finance & Taxation emphasizes undergraduate education and key graduate programs (including a Master of Accounting and a Master of Taxation), where high-quality, presence-based personal interaction among faculty and students, along with scholarship and undergraduate research, is expected and rewarded.
Job Duties
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for the successful candidate will include:
  • A PhD or equivalent (ABD considered if completed by the time of appointment) in accounting from a regionally accredited university or international equivalent.
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated record of high-quality teaching and an established research program.
  • All candidates must qualify as "Scholarly Academic" under the Goddard School's standards.
  • Candidates for Associate Professor must have experience in higher education commensurate with the rank at time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
  • Engage in teaching, research, service, and professional development required to meet GSBE tenure requirements and maintain AACSB "Scholarly Academic" classification.
  • Willingness and ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to advance the mission of the Goddard School.
  • Demonstrate innovative approach to course development and student outreach that engages students to advance their academic and professional outcomes.
  • Current professional certifications, such as CPA, CMA, CIA, etc.
