Job description

Brandeis University seeks to hire an Events Manager that is responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of University events. The role includes supporting institutional events that are a high priority for the campus community. The event manager will also play an integral role in supporting Brandeis department events. This person will also work to market, recruit and execute external events such as corporate meetings, summer conferencing, and other non internal Brandeisian events. The ideal candidate has experience with planning events in a university setting, fosters strong and collaborative working relationships and is able to work in a fast paced environment.

Job Description
  • Coordinates Brandeis affiliated events and signature annual programming as assigned 40%.
  • Plans, organizes and manages a variety of administrative, staff support and planning activities for events, e.g., budgets, speakers, facilities, technology, equipment, logistical requirements and other event related issues. 30%
  • Participates in evaluating budgets and contractual provisions to determine requirements for space, location, technology, equipment, accommodations, catering and on-site management. 20%
  • Provides ongoing assessment of processes related to planning events 5%
  • Other duties as assigned 5%

The max budget for the position is $69k.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of related work experience; academic setting preferred.
  • Diplomacy, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative nature are all essential
  • Highly proficient with Excel, Word and Shared document including G-suite application
  • Ability to guide and consult on best event practices
  • Acute attention to detail and extremely organized
  • Preferred knowledge in 25live reservation system
