Job description

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Management and disposal of radioactive, hazardous, universal, mixed, non-hazardous and sanitary waste to ensure compliance with Site Waste Programs (Manual 1S). This organization reviews waste, ensures waste sampling, provides characterization, and coordinates disposal of waste with Solid Waste Management. Coordination of waste disposal includes special waste shipments to Three Rivers Landfill, offsite shipment for treatment, shipment to Solid Waste for burial, or storage for shipment at a later date. Responsible for managing the chemical program that inventories chemicals used in Site Services by the different groups.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field
• Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

• Current or previous SRNS Waste GCO qualifications, or equivalent and capable of obtaining SRNS Waste GCO qualifications.
• Must be capable of performing hazardous waste characterizations.
• Current or previous SRNS Chemical Coordinator qualifications or equivalent, or capable of obtaining qualifications.

Security Clearance Information

Waste certification personnel verify, document, and ensure compliance with regulations related to the management, handling, and disposal of various types of waste. They oversee waste handling procedures, verify waste manifests, conduct inspections, and coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits.
