The Advanced Practice Provider role involves the proficient management and coordination of patient care within their assigned population. Universal Health is committed to providing comprehensive training, shadowing experiences, and oversight by a Medical Director to ensure our Nurse Practitioners are well-prepared and supported. We equip our Healthcare Providers with the necessary resources to meet the diverse needs of their patients.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver exceptional and appropriate patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, collaborating physicians, and the Director of Nursing (DON) regarding patient care.
  • Conduct patient rounds, contribute to daily care decisions, write orders, and facilitate scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Record daily visit notes in an electronic medical record in a timely manner, with dictation services available.
  • Maintain accurate records related to professional services, including attending to billing reports, claims, and correspondence.
  • Provide services as requested by UHC or as required by bylaws, policies, rules, or regulations of UHC or any affiliated healthcare facility.

Education and Experience:

  • Nursing experience in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, ICU, Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, or General Practice preferred.

License/Certification:

  • Nurse Practitioner License (Required)
  • DEA Certification (Required)
