This role is primarily remote, enabling you to perform your duties from the comfort of your own home or a location of your choosing, while maintaining a structured 40-hour workweek. Our remote setting allows for flexible scheduling, typically from Monday to Friday, with weekend hours as needed. You will engage with your colleagues through virtual meetings and a robust online communication system, ensuring that all team members stay connected for optimal coordination of care.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and follow-up care while utilizing telehealth platforms to reach patients effectively.
• Establish treatment plans that consider the unique social, environmental, psychological, and cultural factors affecting each patient's mental health.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate appropriate levels of care and facilitate seamless discharge planning.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment outcomes to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Participate in clinical supervision with a licensed clinical supervisor and engage in continuous professional development to enhance therapeutic skills.
• Lead group treatment sessions online or in-person, depending on the specific needs of the treatment units, and adjust group dynamics to foster a supportive environment.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and treatment conferences, contributing valuable insights into case management and mental health treatment planning.
• Supervise and mentor social work interns or student volunteers, providing guidance in clinical practice and supporting their professional growth.

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients, including adults and adolescents facing various mental health challenges. The population served at Unity Point Mental Health Center may include individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mood disorders. As a counselor, you will be instrumental in transforming lives through compassionate care and evidence-based interventions.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
• Possession of a valid State license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for effectively engaging with patients and collaborating with the healthcare team.

• Prior experience in mental health counseling with a focus on outpatient care is preferred.
• Familiarity with telehealth tools and online resource management is advantageous.
• A history of working with diverse populations, particularly in culturally responsive care, will set applicants apart.
