Serene Unity Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team as a full-time mental health counselor. Our outpatient office setting primarily serves clients with mood disorders, providing an integrated approach to treatment that includes collaboration with other healthcare professionals. • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of clients’ mood disorder symptoms.
• Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their specific needs, goals, and preferences.
• Implement evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tailored to individuals’ unique situations.
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices to foster understanding and empowerment.
• Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans based on evolving needs and outcomes.
• Facilitate regular case consultations with psychiatrists and other specialists to enhance integrated care strategies.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in mood disorders to continuously improve treatment methodologies.
• Maintain compliance with legal and ethical standards regarding documentation and client confidentiality.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development activities to refine clinical skills and share insights with colleagues.
• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs within the community, working to reduce stigma and increase access to essential resources.

The primary focus of your work will be with clients experiencing various mood disorders including, but not limited to, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will have the opportunity to engage with diverse individuals, including homeless populations, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence, striving to support them in overcoming their mental health challenges. Your role will be crucial in helping these clients find stability, resilience, and a path toward improved emotional health.

• Must possess a valid and active license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Washington.
• Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Proven ability to establish a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients’ experiences, fostering a safe environment for open dialogue.
• Strong organizational skills and time management abilities to effectively handle administrative responsibilities.

• Experience in working with diverse populations and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by clients from various backgrounds.
• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities specific to mood disorders.
• Prior experience in advocacy roles or community outreach related to mental health issues.

• Competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with your qualifications and experience.
