The Immersion Systems team is looking for a Software Engineer to help us enhance the animation system for the world's best-selling video game. You will join a team of engineers in Redmond responsible for critical technologies that enable developers and content creators to create more immersive experiences and prototype game animations more easily.
You will partner with other peers across disciplines (Dev, Design, Product, and Quality) to architect and build powerful new features that delight players and creators. As a developer in this area, you will evaluate requirements, design solutions, estimate development, and integrate high-quality features into Minecraft across dozens of platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Take a customer-centric approach while designing and implementing systems to build gameplay.
  • Design elegant solutions for systems considering overall product architecture.
  • Produce simple, extensible, and maintainable high-quality code.
  • Contribute to design, implementation, and code reviews across the feature area.
  • Effective communicator who can reach successful outcomes through collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience developing in C++, preferably cross-platform.
  • Experience working with skeletal animation keyframe blending, resolving animation trees, or writing IK solvers.
  • Experience working with production animation systems such as those in Unreal Engine, Unity, or Godot.
  • Experience driving cross-org and cross-discipline communications.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
