Job description

1. Education: High school education required for MA; certified or registered Medical Assistant from and accredited institution preferred (RMA).


2. Training and Experience: Minimum of 2 years Medical office experience preferred in clinical setting. Lab, EKG and X-ray experience preferred...


3. Job Knowledge: Understands the role of working as part of a medical care team. Is aware of limitations as well as responsibilities. Skilled at effectively communicating with patients or their delegate.


4. Safety Sensitive: YES
In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.
DESCRIPTION:
This individual is responsible for patient preparation, as well as, assisting the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. Also performs various diagnostic tests and patient education in the clinic. Maintains equipment and acts as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMO’s and other physician’s offices, as well as, with the patient. Supports other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow.
