The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Orthopedics has an exciting opportunity for a full time Program Coordinator to work in Miami, FL.
The Program Coordinator coordinates day-to-day operations of the program. Moreover, the incumbent assists with the development, organization, production, and evaluation of the program to achieve its mission, goals, and objectives. An employee in this position demonstrates familiarity with University policies and procedures and ensures program compliance.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Acts as a liaison to program constituents.

  • Assist with the preparation and/or delivery of program content.

  • Facilitates collaboration between different schools, community agencies, and/or academic support units throughout the University.

  • Coordinates the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data.

  • Drafts comprehensive, statistical, and/or narrative program reports and evaluations, and monitors program effectiveness, making suggestions for revisions when appropriate.

  • Coordinates the scheduling of program components.

  • Drafts and initiates correspondence, develops agendas, maintains calendars, assists in accumulation of reference materials, and coordinates and attends committee meetings.

  • Assists with the development and implementation of program marketing.

  • Provides assistance and support for participants and/or program constituents in all administrative aspects of the program and maintains files and/or program data.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Department Specific Functions

Overview: The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has established a program for collecting

general health and disease specific questionnaires from its patients. The Program Coordinator would be responsible for monitoring participation across multiple clinics and working with clinic staff and faculty to maximize patient participation. The coordinator will work with IT staff and software vendor to troubleshoot system failures and enroll new providers. There is an opportunity to participate with residents and facultyin database research. This is a good opportunity for college graduates interested in pursuing a career in medicine, butwho are not yet ready to apply for an advanced degree.

Role: Coordinate and supervise collection of Patient Reported Outcome Instruments (questionnaires) across department. When needed, assist in contacting patients to increase participation.

Supervise submission of data to national registries.

Assist faculty and residents in accessing data for quality assessment and improvement projects, as well as research projects. Meet with division representatives to assess needs, report performance, and develop strategies to improve performance. Meet weekly with Dr. Lebwohl, or other faculty supervisor to review status of project

Metrics:

Percent patient participation at initial contact and at predetermined follow up intervals.

Successful submission of Registry data.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in medical database research would be an advantage.

  • Core requirements: education associates degree, BA or BS preferred

  • Proficiency in computer software and database management (i.e. Microsoft excel)

  • Experience in medical database research preferred
