We're hiring an entrepreneurial Business Unit Manager to take full accountability for a P&L and drive a cross-functional team (Sales, Engineering, Operations) to achieve ambitious growth. What You Will Do:
As a Business Unit Manager, you are the entrepreneurial agent behind your business unit, guiding a cross-functional team (Sales, Operations, Engineering, Quality) to achieve and exceed performance targets. Your goal is to remove roadblocks and focus on the levers that generate growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Financial Stewardship and Accountability: Take full ownership of your unit's profit and loss. Develop and execute annual and long-range business plans that meet-and beat-the targets for sales, bookings, and EBITDA.
  • Strategic Growth and Expansion: Drive profitable new business by identifying and securing high-margin opportunities through value-based pricing and astute market analysis. Build business cases grounded in data and present your results as an owner would to senior corporate leaders.
  • Customer and Market Growth: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key customers and position your unit for maximum growth. Negotiate complex contracts and ensure exceptional service delivery that reinforces our reputation for quality and reliability.
  • Operational Excellence: Partner closely with Operations and Engineering to align priorities and resources. You will drive continuous improvement, manage cost objectives, and ensure your team is equipped to resolve issues with speed and agility.
  • Team Management and Development: Mentor, coach, and empower your cross-functional team to perform at their highest level. You will build a culture of high performance and accountability, where every member thinks and acts like an owner.
  • High-Stakes Exposure: Present your unit's quarterly performance to senior corporate staff, including the CEO and other company presidents, providing unmatched exposure and accelerating your development.
  • Performs special projects/tasks as assigned

Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's Degree, MBA a plus

Preferred Experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in functions ranging from sales, operations, finance or engineering, preferably from a manufacturing background
  • Prior management experience is a plus

Please note the typical hiring range is $170,000 - $230,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
