Job Summary:

The Division Vice President, Business Unit Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and full profit and loss performance of the Instrumentation, Controls and Vision Systems business unit. This role provides hands-on leadership to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and market leadership across a global, multi-site organization.

The DVP will develop a deep understanding of the business and lead cross-functional teams across geographies to execute a comprehensive strategic plan. This includes advancing AMETEK's four-pillar growth strategy: operational excellence (continuous improvement), new product development, global and market expansion, and strategic mergers and acquisitions.

Partnering closely with functional leaders, the DVP will foster a high-performance culture aligned with AMETEK's values while delivering financial performance, expanding market share, and driving innovation. The role requires a rigorous, data-driven approach to decision-making, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities in dynamic and competitive markets.

Success in this position will be defined by the ability to lead through influence, build high-performing teams, and execute strategies that deliver long-term value creation for the business and its stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full P&L performance, delivering on revenue, profitability, and return-on-asset targets
  • Develop and execute the annual operating plan and long-term strategic plan
  • Drive organic and inorganic growth through market expansion, new product development, and M&A
  • Establish and lead a high-performance, process-driven operating culture aligned with continuous improvement principles (Lean, Six Sigma, CI)
  • Oversee all business unit operations including sales, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, quality, and HR
  • Strengthen product management and innovation by advancing product roadmaps, accelerating development cycles, and increasing NPD contribution to revenue
  • Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities; build business cases and execute integration strategies
  • Analyze competitive landscape and market trends to inform strategy and uncover growth opportunities
  • Drive operational excellence across global, multi-site operations, including improvements in OTD, quality, and working capital
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams; assess talent, develop succession plans, and strengthen organizational capability
  • Maintain strong customer engagement and key relationships to support commercial growth
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, financial rigor, and achievement of operating commitments

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering, Science, or related field preferred)
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience
  • Proven cross-functional leadership across engineering, operations, sales/marketing, finance, and HR
  • Demonstrated success driving profitable growth and executing strategic plans
  • Strong operational background in engineered/manufactured products environments
  • Experience developing and executing growth strategies, including market expansion and product development
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in publicly traded or private equity-backed environments
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead across all levels of the organization
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and access export-controlled information (as applicable)

Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Experience leading a business unit with at least $100M in revenue
  • 5+ years in a senior executive role with full P&L responsibility
  • Experience with mergers & acquisitions, including deal evaluation and integration
  • Global leadership and multi-site management experience
  • Background in highly engineered, technology-driven industries
  • International business exposure and non-U.S. market experience
  • Strong innovation mindset with demonstrated success in new product development and commercialization
  • Ability to drive cultural transformation and organizational alignment
