Job description

Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Description: The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) delivers individualized care to complex patients requiring intermediate care. The role includes a focus on a diverse patient population, including cardiac surgery patients and others requiring critical interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Q6H head-to-toe assessments and chart each one fully.
  • Administer and titrate various medications, including but not limited to Dopamine, Dobutrex, Nitro, Heparin, Cardizem, and Insulin.
  • Manage advanced skills such as IV insertion, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care.
  • Conduct Foley placements, wound vac management, patient ambulation, and assist with ADLs.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art technology like iMobile devices for patient management and communication.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • Current RN License.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
  • Experience in Cardiac/Telemetry and PCU or Critical Care settings.
  • Advanced skills in IV insertion, chest tube management, and EKG monitoring are essential.
