Overview: 

We are currently recruiting for an IT Systems Trainer.     This is a tremendous opportunity to participate in the IT revolution that is changing health care delivery across the United States.  The primary skill needed for the Trainer role is hands-on instructional design and curriculum development.  Must have the ability to analyze training needs and develop an appropriate curriculum to meet those needs.  Will coordinate with stakeholders and managers to establish and verify training objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Design - Demonstrate understanding of adult education principles. Participates in the process of content review and assist in the creation limited training content      

  • Training Preparation - With assistance, applies basic organizational skills in classroom preparation, training environment, course materials, parking lot, and tests necessary equipment prior to training activity

  • Instructor Training - Observes and proctors training sessions.  Meets credentialing process requirements to train learners in functionality, workflow and system usability

  • Learner Assessment - Engages with learner through interaction, course assessment, and evaluation. 

  • Training Approach & Delivery - Learns to deliver training based on actual content while applying time management skills and cadence to the unique learning needs of the audience.  Able to relate to learner role and its application day-to-day.  

  • Training Environment Build - Participate in environment meetings to understand overall purpose and objectives of training environments.

  • Training Coordination - Participates in LMS training.  Assist with administration, setup and maintenance. Assist with scheduling training resources based on operational roles for new hires, ad hoc and pre-implementation.

  • Plan, research, write, and produce learning materials/courses including presentations, exercises, user guides, and quick references as needed.

  • Demonstrate instructional design skills utilizing adult learning principles and creative course design techniques.

  • Act as strategic partner with the department leaders to develop assess and develop training and development programs designed to bridge performance gaps.

  • Lead and manage all aspects of assigned learning projects from initial idea/recommendation through implementation to post-assessment/follow-up.

  • Work with assigned members of Mount Sinai's leadership team in the continual assessment and update of training and development agendas

  • Effectively facilitate, co-facilitate and participate in various learning arenas such as live classroom, remote via web/conference or blended.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Instructional Design and Curriculum Development

  • Workday or Epic or other Information Technology or Healthcare Training experience

  • Able to design/document training materials, build training environments and deliver training classes

  • Training environment experience desired

  • Hands on with eLearning environment
