Job description

Position Summary:

At Triangle Federal Credit Union (TFCU), our members are at the heart of everything we do. As a Member Services Representative (MSR), you’ll be one of the first points of contact for our members—providing friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service in every interaction. You’ll assist with day-to-day financial transactions, guide members in understanding our products, and help strengthen the financial well-being of the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

Member-Focused Service

  • Greet members with a positive attitude and provide prompt, professional assistance in person and by phone.
  • Handle routine financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers.
  • Educate members about TFCU products, services, and digital banking tools.

Cash Handling & Accuracy

  • Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily, ensuring all transactions are handled with precision and care.
  • Identify and report any transaction discrepancies, errors, or unusual activity in compliance with TFCU policies.

 Account Support

  • Assist members with opening new accounts, updating information, and resolving account inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to online banking, mobile apps, and card services.

 Product Knowledge & Referral

  • Recognize member needs and confidently refer them to appropriate TFCU services, including loans and financial counseling. 
  • Participate in campaigns and promotions to grow member engagement and product use.

Compliance & Integrity

  • Ensure all actions comply with credit union regulations (including BSA/AML) and internal procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with all members and credit union information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or relevant coursework in business or finance is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 1+ year of customer service or cash handling experience (credit union or banking experience preferred).
    • Familiarity with core banking systems (e.g., Symitar) is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Friendly, approachable, and committed to delivering top-tier service
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
    • Tech-savvy and adaptable to new tools and systems

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Must successfully complete BSA training as required
  • Employee must be bondable (insurable)
