Job description

We’re seeking a hands-on Welding Engineer Specialist to support high-volume automotive production and drive welding automation, equipment performance, and cost reduction. Key Responsibilities: Lead installation and optimization of welding equipment (robotics, welders, jigs, vision systems) Program and troubleshoot robots (Fanuc or Yaskawa/Motoman preferred) and PLC-controlled systems Support resistance, arc, and/or MIG welding processes Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives Improve workflow, layout, and manufacturing methods for maximum efficiency Identify and resolve weld quality issues; support welding maintenance and training Requirements: 3–5 years of engineering experience (automotive preferred) Robotics programming experience (Fanuc or Yaskawa/Motoman) Experience with resistance, arc, or MIG welding PLC experience Proven cost reduction project experience Self-managed, hands-on problem solver Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
