ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Engineer is responsible for the design of precast concrete structures and ensuring all engineering work meets safety, quality, and code requirements. This role leads project design efforts, supports project execution from concept through completion, and provides technical guidance to junior engineers. The Senior Engineer collaborates across departments and with external partners to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible solutions.

Salary range $100,000- $130,000 a year. Based on experience.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Design and analyze precast structures to ensure safety, performance, and code compliance
  • Review and verify calculations and drawings for accuracy and engineering approval
  • Lead and support project design teams to meet technical and project milestones
  • Mentor and guide junior and entry-level engineers in design and engineering practices
  • Interpret architectural and structural plans and perform required engineering calculations
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, owners, and internal teams on project solutions
  • Identify and resolve design, schedule, and quality issues with appropriate solutions
  • Provide engineering support to sales and estimating teams for prospective projects
  • Conduct site and manufacturing facility visits as required for project support
  • Make timely technical decisions and develop solutions to correct project issues

WHO WERE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a motivated structural engineer with strong precast design experience and a developing or active PE license. They are technically skilled, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects while ensuring safe and accurate engineering outcomes. This individual is a collaborative team player who communicates effectively, supports junior engineers, and contributes to practical, high-quality design solutions in a fast-paced environment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in precast or structural design
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within first year of employment
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction practices
  • Proficiency with design and engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Motivation and self-drive to complete complex technical tasks

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
