Compensation range: $21.00-$22.00 per hour

The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Member Service Representative: your focus is delivering the financial needs of members professionally, efficiently and confidentially. Serving as a representative of the credit union, you uphold the highest standards of professionalism, focusing on creating a positive member centric experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Actively promotes all AFCU products and services while exceeding defined sales goals.

  • Maintains a friendly, approachable and professional attitude in servicing members according to credit union expectations; businesslike appearance.

  • Maintains current knowledge of all credit union policies, products, procedures and related services, and advises members on those that best meet their needs.

  • Opens and accurately services members with accounts, and general services.

  • Maintains expertise and accuracy in processing various aspects of loan products and services; from application to disbursement and post-closing servicing; such as, understanding and assisting members with applications, repayment terms, credit reporting and related analyses, etc.

  • Accurately processes routine transactions and loan applications in person, by phone and by mail.

  • Assists other areas of the branch to maintain service levels and the operations of the branch (i.e. acts as teller). Understands and assists with general branch operations that include:

  • Ability to open/close branch; Audit Assistance; and Participation in SEG and other sales activities to generate business.

  • Attend in-house and assigned training as directed. Possess or obtain Notary commission within six months of employment.

  • Ability to work independently in the absence of management for short periods of time.

  • Achieve sales and other personal goals and efforts to help branch achieve related goals. Actively participates in the coaching process.

  • Supports all aspects of branch sales, operations and servicing in the absence of management.

  • In a SEG branch, the MSR is expected to assume greater responsibility.

  • The MSR assists management in maintaining defined audit, cash handling and cash ordering procedures.

  • Orders supplies from in-house and outside vendors. Assists in other branch operational duties. Operate independently in the absence of the Branch Manager. Performs other job related duties as assigned (i.e. supplies).

Position Requirements

Knowledge & Skills need to be successful in this role

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency

  • A minimum of one to three (3) years of teller experience or related experience is normally required

  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with a PC and associated programs (such as Microsoft Office)

  • Ability to build relationships with members and teammates

  • Cash handling skills
