Job description

Job Summary:

 Opportunity available for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator.  This individual must observe all Boh Bros. safety protocols and be drug-free.  Must have consistent and reliable transportation to and from job sites assigned.     Most job sites are located in and around the Baton Rouge area.Must observe all Boh Bros. safety protocol. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to operating a variety of power construction equipment including screed, pavers, motor graders, excavators, front end loaders, rubber tire backhoes, dozers, trench excavation, installation of shoring systems, housekeeping at job site, Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment; performing other duties on the job site when not operating equipment checking safety protocol, beginning of shift set-up and end of shift clean-up, and some hand work, etc.  

Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions, cold, heat, humidity, and frequently at heights/depths and at various job sites and locations assigned.

Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic hand tools, and other small pieces of equipment preferred.

Ability to operate excavators of all sizes, rubber tire backhoe, front end loader, forklift, etc. and other pieces of equipment preferred. 

Applicant must have at least two (2) years of experience in the civil construction field, working outdoors in extreme weather conditions and ability to understand simple directions preferred.

The ability to acquire a TWIC card is preferred but not required. 

Boh Bros. is a union contractor. All wages and benefits are determined by the union agreement. All new hires will be paid 90% of the journeyman scale for the first 300 hours of employment. 

Must be able to work in a team setting with other craft workers engaged in civil construction activities.Â
