Job description

Overview 

The Material Controller must be knowledgeable of maintenance and construction materials. Will need knowledge of computer equipment, where applicable. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.

Responsibilities

  • Order materials when required
  • Schedule equipment through proper protocol
  • Set up, charge, all work orders and account numbers
  • Receive, inspect, help unload and distribute materials/equipment received
  • Set up and maintain inventory system and reordering
  • Assist contract supervision upon request
  • Assist in the field when needed
  • Maintain file system and cross-reference book
  • Attain proper accounting documents for all work order numbers monthly
  • Assist operator with orders when requested
  • Locate specialty equipment such as transition pieces, check valves, etc.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials

Qualifications

 

   Physical

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
