We are hiring for Operating Room Assistant position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

Position is Full Time, 1.0 FTE, Variable Shift, 40 hours per week.

Under supervision the Operating Room Assistant II provides general support to Nursing staff in the Operating Room. Activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment that facilitates patient focused care. OR Assistants handle equipment and supplies, clean and decontaminate Operating Rooms and equipment, transport patients, and operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of technical equipment used in the operating room. Assists with providing patient care in the Operating Room under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and the Lead OR assist.

Required qualifications:

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • 6 months Internal OR Assistant I candidates: Operating Room Assistant experience with completion of Operating Room Assistant competency program.
  • 1 year External candidates: Experience as Operating Room Assistant or equivalent in a hospital based operating room.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Completed training as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
