Job description

You will serve as a Seasonal Utility Systems Repairer-Operator at Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve.

The typical seasonal period is October through March but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: October 2026.Qualifications:

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-08/14/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

  • Ability to do the work of a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator WG-07 without more than normal supervision (Screen out):
  • Repair, maintenance and operation of utility systems related to water, wastewater, and plumbing.
  • Starting, stopping, and regulating the utility or utilities for optimum efficiency and troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing them.
  • Performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on utility systems related to water production and treatment.
  • Diagnosing plumbing, water production and distribution issues. Interpreting building plans, specifications, work orders, oral instructions, diagrams, and guides to plan and lay out various systems and equipment.

You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements to be considered qualified for this position.
