Role Summary

The Equipment Mechanic will provide routine and non-routine maintenance support to the day-to-day Blue Hat Equipment operations. This position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment as per manufacturer's specification.  All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

EQUIPMENT MECHANIC FAMILY - CORE

  • Performs routine preventative maintenance, diagnostic equipment inspections, and repair operations on breakdowns for construction equipment per manufacturer's specifications.
  • Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns on site or via the phone using effective communications skills with field operations.
  • Responsible for the accurate documentation and data entry for completed maintenance and repairs.
  • Responsible for timely communication to internal and external business partners through phone calls and responding to emails for maintenance related questions.
  • Orders parts for equipment repair using the work order system by determining manufacturer requirements and specifications.
  • Receives, organizes, stores, and distributes equipment parts and supplies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to learn the operating/accounting system for data entry
  • Demonstrated ability to identify common end items, parts, and tools
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service through positive interaction with customers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance operations including: engine oil changes, hydraulic pump and cylinder functions, diesel engine operations, basic electrical functions
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally
Education
  • High School/GED or equivalent (Required)
  • Apprentice Program or Vocational training on equipment repair (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered
Experience
  • 2+ years mechanic or maintenance operations (Preferred)
Working Environment
  • Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds
  • Typically travel is not required
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
  • Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling
  • Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen
