As a General Laborer with Degesch America, Inc., you'll support commercial fumigation operations at a variety of sites, including port facilities, warehouses, agricultural facilities, industrial locations, and ocean-going vessels. We are looking for dependable individuals who enjoy physical work, value safety, and are eager to learn a specialized trade with opportunities for advancement. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to build a long-term career with a growing company.

This position is offered as Part-Time, however, as we enter our busy season, there will be more hours available to flexible candidates. Degesch offers a direct path to increased earnings. Position Summary

General Laborers assist with commercial fumigation operations on ships, vessels, warehouses, grain facilities, and other structures. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring adherence to company procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. Successful candidates are dependable, able to work independently and as part of a team, and willing to work in a physically demanding environment.

Essential Duties and Physical Requirements

  • Climb ladders, stairs, gangways, and elevated work areas on a regular basis
  • Kneel, bend, reach, crouch, and crawl to inspect and treat vessels and structures
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including repetitive lifting when necessary
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the region
  • Respond to after-hours and weekend work assignments as business needs require
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications/Skills

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and safely perform assigned duties
