Description:

The Maintenance Support Technician supports the Centralize Maintenance Department by maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal of assigned apartment communities. This position assists with ground maintenance, preventive maintenance, property improvement projects, apartment make-ready support, and general labor to help provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and team members.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in apartment maintenance, groundskeeping, landscaping, janitorial services, or a related field. Experience operating pressure washing equipment is a plus.

License/Certification: Valid state driver’s license

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • English/Spanish fluency preferred
  • Basic computer and smartphone skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and respectful behavior
  • Ability to understand and execute basic instructions
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Ability to multi-task, use good judgment, and contribute to a team approach to work
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs and ladders. Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
  • Ability to perform physical labor and to lift heavy objects. Must be able to lift, pull, push, and carry at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel locally to onsite communities, the corporate office, affiliated organizations, and local municipalities
  • Proficiency in a variety of tasks, including minor repairs and maintenance work (e.g., painting, drywall, carpentry, structure repair, fix showers, sinks doors/cabinets, walls and building exteriors)
  • Strong ability to assess issues and develop practical solutions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to use a wide range of tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Must have a professional, neat, and clean appearance daily
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal of the property by keeping all common areas clean and well-maintained, reporting maintenance concerns, and assisting with cleanup, landscaping, and other grounds improvement activities as needed
  • Report safety hazards, property damage, irrigation issues, and maintenance concerns.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to residents, vendors, and coworkers
  • Follow all company policies, regulations, Fair Housing requirements, and required safety procedures
  • Assist with pressure washing, gutter cleaning, exterior cleaning, touch-up painting, signage installation, preventive maintenance, and seasonal property improvement projects
  • Support apartment make-ready activities, including trash removal, patio and storage area cleaning, and final unit preparation
  • Assist with moving equipment, organizing maintenance shops, emergency cleanup, and other labor-intensive projects assigned
  • Safely operate company equipment, including pressure washers, blowers, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, ladders, hand and power tools, shop vacuums, maintenance carts, and other equipment as needed
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and report damaged equipment promptly
  • Wear appropriate PPE and immediately report accidents, unsafe conditions, or damaged equipment
  • Perform additional labor-intensive projects assigned by management or other duties as assigned
