About the Job
This position keeps assigned areas clean and clear of trash, assists in set-up for meetings and/or special events. Assists with laundry functions as needed. Monitors and maintains cleaning chemical storage rooms and maintains bulk trash storage areas. Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED;
  • One-year relevant experience.
  • Capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemical capabilities, mixing proportions and use.

About the Job
The YMCA Alexandria is looking for a male facility housekeeping staff to assist the chief engineer in maintenance and cleanliness in the men's locker room and around the building. Are you organized, proactive and have a keen eye for details? Then the facility housekeeping technician position is for you. The YMCA facility housekeeping team set the stage for exceptional service by keeping the Y facility clean and inviting.
Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Facility Housekeeping Technician include but are not limited to:
  • Keeps assigned areas including (men's locker room) clean and clear for all YMCA participants
  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, and mopping
  • Assists in set-up for meetings and/or special events
  • Monitor and maintain cleaning: storage rooms, offices, kitchen, bathrooms
  • Assist with laundry functions as needed
  • Respond to accidents, spills, and other housekeeping emergencies

Schedule:
  • Sunday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm
