Primary Responsibilities
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Personal Care (assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom needs, feeding)
  • Light Housekeeping/Household Management (incl. laundry and linen changing)
  • Apparel selection (i.e. laying out clothes)
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Medication reminders
  • Mobility support (standby assist, transfer, hoyer lift)
  • Transportation using own or client's vehicle
  • Helping family members learn safe care techniques
  • Tolerance to pets (dogs and/or cats)
  • Lift 40lbs or less.

Qualifications
  • Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at an average adult level and interpret the Plan of Care Document provided by Senior Helpers
  • Ability to drive is required
  • Have a valid Patient Care Assistant/Aide (PCA) certificate or Certified Nurse Aide state-issued license (will be verified)
  • Ability to get to work using reliable transportation
  • Valid US issued driver's license with no serious driving violations
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations
  • Pass a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers
  • Pass a drug screening test
  • Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care, a plus, but not required
  • Must be able to be reached via phone, text, or email for shift schedules, client updates and/or emergencies
