Job Summary
This position provides essential support to the Dean for the Memphis College of Urban & Theological Studies (MCUTS), Program Coordinator, and Program Directors to ensure efficient operations with the organization. This position combines administrative responsibilities with communication tasks to create, manage, and distribute content that is clear, consistent, and aligned with the organization's mission and goals.

Essential Job Duties
  • General administrative support of the Dean, Program Coordinator, and Program Directors.
  • Organize and execute basic processes and functions, specifically to include data collection and entry on attendance, book loans, and degree audits.
  • Manage communication with students, alumni, and constituents.
  • Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading communications such as emails, newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials.
  • Create content for social media platforms, website updates, and digital campaigns in alignment with University branding and policies. Coordinate with Office of University Communication (UUC) on social media and website updates.
  • Monitor social media and digital engagement and report basic analytics.
  • Coordinate with Dean and Program Directors to gather information and promote MCUTS events or initiatives through event communications, invitations, signage, and follow-up communication.
  • Perform basic graphic design tasks using tools such as Canva or Adobe products.
  • Maintain organized records of communications, templates, and media assets.
  • Assist Program Coordinator in student advising and registrar processes.
  • Conduct administration for adjunct instructor personnel paperwork.
  • Run reports and undertake analysis projects as directed by the Dean and Program Coordinator.
  • Manage inventory of books through loaning to students and ordering new sets as needed.
  • Assist in planning and organizing meetings and special events including New Student Orientation, Student Appreciation Week, Graduation Banquet, and other special events.
  • Perform other administrative and communications-related duties as assigned.

Other Job Duties
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) or more years of relevant experience. The successful candidate for this position must be highly organized with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills and able to handle multiple projects in a dynamic college environment, including the ability to prioritize assignments and effectively manage time with minimum supervision. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software applications, graphic design software, and social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in administrative and communications roles, especially in education organizations.
Christian Requirement
Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University's Identity, Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
