Title: Senior Data Engineer
Duration: 06 months (potential to hire)
Location: Newark, NJ

Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with strong Denodo experience to design, build, and maintain scalable virtualized data products and semantic-layer solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data integration, virtualization, API enablement, and cloud-based ETL development. This role will partner closely with Solution Architects, Tech Leads, AI Engineers, and Business SMEs to deliver trusted, governed, and AI-consumable data assets.
Key Responsibilities
Denodo Development
• Develop and maintain layers of views;
• Build virtualized data products using Denodo best practices.
o Implement: Relationship, joins, standardization, transformations
• Apply enterprise naming conventions and business metadata standards.
Data Engineering
• Build and support ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services.
• Integrate data from multiple source systems, APIs, cloud platforms, and operational applications.
• Support creation of canonical data models and semantic-layer entities.
• Develop reusable data transformation components.
Performance Optimization
• Optimize Denodo query performance.
• Implement caching and accelerator strategies.
• Tune joins, aggregations, and virtualized query execution.
• Troubleshoot complex performance and integration issues.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• 3+ years of Denodo development experience.
Strong knowledge of:
o Virtual Data Models
o Data Integration
o SQL
o Data Warehousing
o Dimensional Modeling
Experience with:
o AWS Lambda
o ETL/ELT development
o APIs and Web Services
o Data Product development
Experience implementing:
o Join strategies
