About the Role:
As a Facilities Supervisor, you will work under the general direction of the Facilities Manager to lead and coach our maintenance workforce. You will administer union agreements, ensure safe and efficient work practices, and provide expert equipment maintenance. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring equipment availability for plant operations and championing proactive maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule Management: Create and finalize work schedules for maintenance crews using input from managers, supervisors, engineers, and planners.
  • Coordination: Develop daily maintenance schedules, prioritize jobs, and maintain a backlog of work orders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations and internal customers to ensure timely equipment repairs and communication.
  • Safety Champion: Ensure the completion of safety work orders and accurate data collection for preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Training & Coaching: Train and coach trades in proper documentation and maintenance activities.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and analyze maintenance issues, revising programs to enhance operations.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY:
Works under the general direction of theFacilitiesManagertodirect and coach the maintenance work force,administer the provisions of the union agreement/contract,ensure work is accomplished in a safe and efficient manner, provide equipment maintenance expertise, and ensure equipment is available for plant operations. Ensures that the work force is available for scheduled work, that job plans are efficient and effective, and that scheduling is accurate and communicated to the work force and operations/customers.Championsproactive maintenance, works to minimize reactive maintenance, and implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Utilizesthe computerizedmaintenance management system to manage work and ensure that data collected by hourly colleagues is accurate and complete.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Uses input from managers, supervisors, engineersand maintenance plannerto createor finalize work schedules for assignedmaintenance crews.

  • Coordinatesa dailymaintenance schedulefor assigned tradesand assists the maintenance managerin determining job priorities.Makes changes and adjustments to the schedule and work plans after a review with themaintenance planner. Maintains a complete and current backlog of work orders.

  • Works closely withoperations and other internal customers to ensure equipment repairs are completed, delays and timeframes are communicated, and equipment is returned to operation in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Works closely with the maintenance manager, maintenance planner, and othersupervisors to determine manpower availability and allocation.

  • Champions the timely completion of safety work orders and ensures the accurate collection of work order data for preventive and predictive maintenance work.

  • Ensures CMMS dataiscomplete and current. Trains and coaches assigned trades in proper completion and documentation of work orders, maintenance activities, and equipment information.

  • Identifies required materials for planned jobs and initiates appropriate requests.

  • Identifies, analyzes and reviews maintenance problems with maintenance engineering and revises the maintenance management program as necessary to improve and enhance plant and field operations. Assists in the education of maintenance personnel.

  • Embraces the concepts of servant leadership, and coaching & mentoring teams to increase self-management.Leadsregularmeetings withassignedcolleaguesand interfaces one-on-one for coaching,mentoring, and developingthe work force.

  • Enforces plant safety rules. Instructs personnel in safe working habits. Responsible toinvestigate any accidents and implement any corrective actions necessary to prevent reoccurrence.

COMPETENCIES:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS degree or equivalent experience

  • Demonstratedcapability in mathematics,time management and the ability to read blueprints.

  • Ability to establish strong relationships with all levels of the organization.

  • General computer competencyforemail and office programs required.Skills withMicrosoftExcel, Googleapplications,and Oracle desired.

  • 5years experienceasscheduler or maintenance supervisor in an industrial environment.
