Responsibilities

DLZ is looking for dependable individuals to fill a variety of Union Material Testing Technician opportunities in Burns Harbor, IN!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform material testing and observation, keep accurate record of results for prompt reporting.
  • Maintain field equipment in proper working order.
  • Assist in hand coring operations
  • Calibrate assigned field equipment.
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with DLZ’s Health and Safety Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent. 
  • Insurable driving record, ability to pass background and drug testing required.
  • Able to lift up to 75lbs throughout daily functions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel.
  • Ability to work over 40 hours per week as needed, may be on short notice.
  • Technician Level to be determined based on experience and union contract required certifications below:
    • ACI Level I, II Certification
    • ACI Concrete Inspector Certification
    • CWI Certification
    • Troxler Class Certification
    • ANST Level I, 2 or 3 - MT, PT, UT, VT Certification
    • ASNT Level II-MT, PT, VT Certification
    • Bentonite Slurry Certification
    • IDOT Level I, II, III Asphalt-Concrete Certification
    • Soils and Granular Material Experience four (4) or more years
    • Floor Flatness Certified Dipstick
    • Roofing Observations
    • ASNT Level II-UT Certification
    • NICET Level I, II, III Certification
    • ICBO fireproofing Certification
    • ICBO-Masonry, Steel, Concrete Certification
    • CWI-Certified Welding Inspector
    • INDOT Qualified Technician

Compensation is commensurate with experience, premium pay as appropriate.  Excellent Union Local 150 health insurance, retirement plans, and paid vacation offered after a probationary work period.
