Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Unified Mechanical Group is a fast-growing commercial HVAC and mechanical contracting firm in the Inland Empire, and we are hiring a Director of Sales to own the full revenue function. This is a senior leadership role with a compensation package built to attract someone serious: $130,000 to $170,000 base salary, a performance bonus tied to team revenue and margin attainment, and a company vehicle.

You will lead and develop our HVAC sales team, manage a HubSpot CRM-driven pipeline across both commercial HVAC construction and preventative maintenance service contracts, and personally pursue strategic accounts in the Southern California market. You will report directly to the President and have real influence over the direction of the company.

If you have built a commercial HVAC sales team before and want to do it again at a well-capitalized company with no ceiling on growth, this is the role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead and develop HVAC Account Executives and Sales Representatives: set targets, run weekly pipeline reviews, coach deals, and hold the team accountable to KPIs
  • Own the full commercial sales pipeline from lead generation through contract close across HVAC construction and HVAC service divisions
  • Personally pursue strategic accounts with general contractors, building owners, developers, and facility managers across Southern California
  • Drive growth in preventative maintenance agreements and HVAC service contracts alongside construction revenue
  • Administer HubSpot CRM: enforce usage standards, build executive dashboards, and use pipeline data to drive decisions
  • Oversee proposal quality, margin compliance, and bid competitiveness on all outgoing proposals
  • Provide weekly and monthly pipeline and performance reports to the President
  • Represent UMG at industry events, trade associations, and client meetings throughout the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, and Orange County markets

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years of sales experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, or a related commercial construction or facilities service industry
  • Demonstrated experience directly managing a sales team: setting revenue targets, conducting performance reviews, and developing sales talent
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding team revenue targets
  • Deep familiarity with commercial HVAC systems, construction project delivery methods, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Hands-on CRM proficiency; HubSpot experience strongly preferred
  • Existing relationships with general contractors, building owners, or facility managers in the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, or Orange County markets (preferred)
  • Experience in a union mechanical contracting environment (preferred)
  • Valid California driver's license; ability to travel locally for client meetings and site visits

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Base salary: $130,000 - $170,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Performance bonus tied to team revenue attainment, gross margin, and service contract growth
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
  • Phone allowance
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Direct line to the President and meaningful influence over company culture and strategy
