Job Description

PCI is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its PCI Portland 553 operations based in Salt Lake City, UT. This individual will:

  • Estimate, bid and secure construction projects of sufficient revenue and margin to meet the prescribed business plan.
  • Initiate and maintain customer contact which will enable securements and profitable execution of work.
  • Direct and manage the construction activities of projects in area of responsibility in order to maximize margin contribution results.
  • Interpret and analyze contract documents regarding terms, specifications, clarifications and requirements for each project.
  • Manage job site personnel in order to maintain effective relations with owner, engineers, utilities, subcontractors, contractors, unions, etc.
  • Implement the corporate program regarding loss control and claims management pertaining to workers compensation.
  • Analyze and monitor actual vs. estimated costs in order to develop action plans where unfavorable variances are detected. Ensure that an effective job control system is utilized on each project.
  • Effectively estimate the majority of work applicable to respective region. Responsible to solicit the assistance of the estimating department when necessary in order to assure maximum bidding activity without sacrificing quality.
  • Negotiate contract issues and variances and further negotiate change order, scope changes, claims and other project issues as required.

Basic Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of Construction Management work experience.
  • Experienced in data center/semi-conductor. Framing, exterior cladding, grid, RAF, mechanical and commercial insulation.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
  • Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  • Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quickbid.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and keep each on schedule ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees within the company.
  • Must be flexible and enjoy working with a diverse group in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $94,000 - $126,000, plus a non-guaranteed annualized bonus program. 

This position is safety sensitive. 

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
  • Experience with working with union representatives is preferred.
  • OSHA Certification.
  • Local to Salt Lake City metro area is preferred.
  • Relocation eligible.Â
