Industrial Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior)

The Industrial Engineering team within Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Industrial Engineers (Levels 2, 3, and 4) to join our growing team located in either Everett, Renton, Seattle, or Auburn, Washington, USA.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have the unique opportunity to design, stabilize, improve, and transform production systems and processes to achieve world class operational excellence for some of the world's most sophisticated aircraft and systems. Our Industrial Engineers will focus on production stability, implementing lean methodologies, assessing and performing to rate readiness requirements, as well as improving quality through root cause analysis. Candidates will be engaging with all manufacturing, engineering, and production-supporting organizations and should be a self-starter as well as a collaborative team player. Our business units expose you to all aspects of the Aerospace Manufacturing world allowing you to explore and learn the production build processes from supply chain production readiness, fabrication of raw materials, assembly and installation, and supporting deliveries to our customers around the world.

Position Descriptions:
  • Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements of moderate complexity.
  • Designs, develops, analyzes, tests, evaluates and implements processes and technology insertions by applying industrial engineering techniques and concepts to optimize production system design, operational efficiency and after-market services.
  • Monitors performance, supports production and systems to meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Translates engineering, systems, and mathematical concepts to practical applications throughout the product life cycle.
  • Researches emerging technologies and develops industrial engineering tools and processes.
  • Ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.
  • Supports the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
  • Develops moderately complex models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders.
  • Assists with research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Leads metrics, data analysis, and improvement plans, related to our team's productivity, efficiency and first-time quality; including Lean+ events, 5S improvement plans, and/or special initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of experience defining, developing, implementing, or improving production processes.
  • 2+ years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing and/or production environment?

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Skilled in effective time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a team environment.
  • 2 or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing with knowledge of lean principles
  • Experience developing and deploying standard processes.
  • Proficient in structured problem solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
