Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Fulton, MD that is seeking a Senior Network Architect to lead the strategy, design, and evolution of large-scale enterprise network environments.
Summary:
This individual will serve as a technical leader responsible for developing and implementing network architecture standards, guiding infrastructure roadmaps, and driving modernization initiatives across complex LAN, WAN, wireless, and security environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep Cisco expertise and a proven track record designing and supporting enterprise-class network infrastructures. This role requires a hands-on architect who can engage with business and technical stakeholders, evaluate emerging technologies, and deliver scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level network professional looking to influence enterprise architecture strategy while remaining involved with cutting-edge infrastructure initiatives and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop enterprise-wide network architecture strategies and technology roadmaps
* Design, implement, and optimize complex LAN, WAN, wireless, and security solutions
* Serve as a subject matter expert for Cisco networking technologies
* Lead network modernization efforts involving SDA, DNA Center, and ACI environments
* Create high-level and low-level network design documentation
* Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and vendors
* Design and support Cisco ISE-based network access control solutions
* Implement and manage site-to-site and remote access VPN environments
* Oversee network equipment lifecycle management, upgrades, and patching
* Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams on enterprise initiatives
* Develop performance standards and operational best practices
* Produce technical documentation, diagrams, planning guides, and implementation standards
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
* 10+ years of enterprise network architecture, engineering, and support experience
* Advanced troubleshooting within large, complex network environments
Experience with:
* Cisco Routing & Switching
* Cisco Wireless Technologies
* Cisco Firewalls/Network Security
* F5 Load Balancers
* Infoblox (DNS & DHCP)
* Enterprise LAN/WAN design
* Software Defined Access (SDA) architectures
* Integration of multiple infrastructure and security technologies
Desired Certifications:
* CCNP (Enterprise, Data Center, or Wireless) or equivalent Cisco design certification
* Cisco DNA Center
* Cisco ISE
* Cisco ACI
Additional Technical Expertise Preferred:
* Cisco NGFW design, deployment, and lifecycle management
* Cisco ISE policy creation, troubleshooting, and NAC implementations
* Cisco Data Center networking and advanced routing
* AAA and RADIUS authentication
* High-availability network architectures
* Security best practices, threat mitigation, and proactive infrastructure hardening
* Complex topology design and enterprise network transformation initiatives
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
