Job description

Who we are looking for

State Street is looking for a hands-on Application Engineering Lead to provide engineering leadership in build out of a large scale business critical platform. The candidate will work in a dynamic, fast-paced Agile team environment, working closely with business and IT staff across business units and geographies and will bring deep experience leading software engineering teams to deliver ecure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing enterprise solutions in the cloud.

What you will be responsible for

As a Software Engineering & Development Lead, Vice President you will

  • Lead software engineering teams delivering large-scale enterprise applications

  • Partner with business, architecture, infrastructure, and risk teams to deliver strategic technology solutions.

  • Oversee solution design, development, production readiness, and operational stability.

  • Mentor engineering talent and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Communicate technology strategy, risks, and delivery progress to senior leadership.

  • Design and develop cloud native applications in AWS for the IMS West business unit

  • Provide hands-on support during critical delivery initiatives and complex production challenges.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • 12+ years' experience in IT developing enterprise applications and data processing solutions

  • Experience with multi-platform, multi database and/or multi language

  • Hands-on experience with AWS Compute services like EC2, Lambda, ECS or EKS and AWS RDS (Posgres SQL development)

  • Hands-on experience with ReactJS or other front end programming languages

  • Experience with designing & delivering solutions on AWS or other cloud platforms

  • Experience with event driven architecture, micro-services, and serverless development patterns

  • Experience leading agile delivery & adhering to SDLC processes is required

  • Experience in financial industry working on financial reporting/regulatory projects is a plus

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 12+ years of experience developing enterprise scale applications

Additional requirements

  • Candidate must work primarily in the Pacific Time Zone (California).

  • Regular collaboration with offshore teams in India and China as well as with management and technical teams on the U.S. East Coast is required.

  • Demonstrated prior experience leading, motivating, coaching and developing people and teams.

  • Demonstrated solid interpersonal skills, team-work attitude and drive collaborative initiatives.

Work Requirement

  • Onsite 4 days a week in office and one day remote

  • Standard business hours aligned to project and stakeholder needs(8am to 5pm)

Salary Range:

$125,000 - $215,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
