Job description

As part of our growth we are looking for a Senior Design Engineer (m/f/d). Within the Components team, in the Steel Towers & Infrastructure area, you will be performing the following tasks:

YOUR TASKS:

  • Support the TDO-E2E project
  • Development of CAD Templates and other design tooling, methods and processes for integration in the TDO-Tool and support of other design activities (e.g. PSRs, Field support)
  • Project work in interdisciplinary teams for the holistic, joint definition of components (purchasing, quality, service, assembly, etc.)
  • Review of work results from other internal or external design engineers
  • Collaboration in cost-down teams and programs to optimize components
  • CAD modeling and drawing creation with NX-Unigraphics
  • Product data management within Teamcenter 14
  • Creation of development reports
  • If necessary, planning, controlling and coordinating self-responsible development tasks in development projects with the "Microsoft Project" software
  • If necessary, evaluation and processing of quality issues in the area of responsibility
  • If necessary, support of external service providers
  • If necessary patent research or creation

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Completed degree* in mechanical engineering (diploma, master's degree, university of applied sciences, university, state certified engineer or engineering related studies), preferably with a specialization in design, manufacturing technology or product development
  • Skill to independently and responsibly develop of equipment components for wind turbines in the field of steel- and hybrid towers
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or German will be a plus
  • 8+ years in the wind industry
  • Experience using NX-Unigraphics, Teamcenter and Microsoft Project
  • Experience in design and dimensioning (analytical, if necessary numerical) of components in the area of steel, aluminum, welded, bent and sheet metal constructions. Regular tasks will be assigned to ensure continued connection to the needed processesthe value added chain
  • Experience in the creation of development documents and in the application of development methodology
  • Experience in Lift-Ladder System for Windturbines
  • Experience in the design, certification and series improvement of tower components that are relevant to personal safety e.g., ladder- and fall arrest systems, service lifts- and climb assist systems and associated platforms and railings and associated general mechanical design e.g. brackets, cable guidance is a must
  • Experience in the application of relevant standards
  • Availability to travel
