Framing the gap positively shows resilience and a proactive approach to career development.

What does it mean to be unemployed?

Being unemployed means that a person who is capable of working is currently without a job but is actively seeking employment. Unemployment can be voluntary, such as when someone leaves a job to look for a better opportunity, or involuntary, such as after a layoff or termination. People who are unemployed may qualify for government assistance or unemployment benefits depending on their country's laws. The unemployment rate is often used as an economic indicator to measure the health of a country's job market.
