The Private Banking Portfolio Manager will work closely with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Administrators to monitor the ongoing performance of an assigned client portfolio. These duties will include completing annual reviews, renewing maturing loan facilities, monitoring covenant compliance, and underwriting new lending opportunities. Complexity of the customer relationships managed, any credit authority extended, and the designation of the Portfolio Manager is determined by the candidate's work experience and training. Private Banking credit includes loans to wealthy individuals, and their business interests, Medical Practices, Dental Practices, Law Firms, partner buy-in loans, and Marketable Securities based lending.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the collection of financials statements and borrower information.
  • Complete annual reviews, renew maturing loan facilities, monitor covenant compliance, and underwrite new lending opportunities.
  • Attend in-person/virtual calls to help assess the needs of prospective and existing bank clients.
  • Assist Relationship Managers with the structuring of proposed deals and term sheets that conform with the bank's Credit Policy.
  • Work with Relationship Managers, Lead Portfolio Managers, and Credit Officer in obtaining loan approvals in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate loan closings with the bank's Loan Operations group.
  • Collection and organization of relevant legal documents from the borrower.
  • Assist other Portfolio Managers with workflow as time allows.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field, or equivalent experience in retail and commercial banking divisions.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a loan servicing environment is required.
  • Must have commercial loan underwriting experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge of commercial and consumer loan and deposit products.
  • Must have thorough understanding of commercial lending and accounting standard practices.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to thoroughly interpret financial data and use sound business judgment.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent listening ability and presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to learn from the experience of others, both inside and outside the organization.
  • Must have strong skills using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Salary Range:

$53,744.00 - $88,290.50

Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate's experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
