Job Description

The Credit Products Underwriter IV - Commercial is primarily responsible for managing and developing a team of underwriters focused on underwriting the complex financial transactions, including the financing of multiple business endeavors such as: investment real estate, owner-occupied real estate, working capital, equipment, LBOs/acquisitions, healthcare-related opportunities, as well as credits augmented with an SBA guarantee. In addition, the CPU IV is responsible for providing product and industry expertise to the client by designing and executing solutions for the most complex and specialized clients and transactions.   Industries and Product offered are broad and require unique due diligence and analysis based on the type of business and structure. A high volume (50% +) of the Credit Requests are from prospects and require additional level of due diligence and analysis.  The CPU IV will typically support a specific market / markets of 10+ RMs and RM Managers. The CPU IV will have client-facing responsibilities, providing the necessary consultation to deliver the best possible integrated solution to the client.  Superb communication skills (written and verbal) must be present to effectively communicate with RM Management, various Relationship Managers, Credit Team and other BOKF personnel. The majority of the CPU IV’s time will be balanced between managing and developing Underwriters; decisioning loans within their assigned loan authority; managing Work In Process; providing analysis of clients, design and execution of deals, and joint client calls with RMs to provide expert counsel and advice.  The CPU IV will partner with the RMs and RM Managers to assist in generating revenue and profitability.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • The majority of your time will be spent managing and developing a team of underwriters conducting the complex credit analysis to finance multiple business endeavors including; investment real estate, owner-occupied real estate, working capital, equipment, LBOs/acquisitions, healthcare-related opportunities, as well as credits augmented with an SBA guarantee.
  • Your day will consist of credit conversations, decisioning loans within authority, managing workflow, and communication with Relationship Managers.
  • You will work efficiently to decision loan request while mitigating risk.
  • You will prepare very complex commitment reports for critical client accounts in the multi-state markets supported by the lending center.
  • You will have client-facing responsibilities, providing consultation to deliver the best possible integrated solution to the client.
  • You will interact with the Credit Risk Managers, Credit Concurrence Officers, and Line of Business Leadership to lead loan presentations and provide additional information to support conclusions.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of credit analysis/credit products underwriter and/or “business line” experience; or 20+ years of equivalent work-related experience.
