Electrical Estimator
Employment Type: Salaried / Exempt
Location: Charlotte, NC
Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 Base Salary
Position Overview:
A growing electrical infrastructure and utility construction organization is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support estimating efforts for large-scale underground electrical, utility, and infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast. This individual will work closely with senior estimators, operations leadership, subcontractors, and vendors to develop accurate project estimates, bid packages, and cost proposals for high-profile construction projects.
The ideal candidate will bring experience estimating dry utilities, underground electrical systems, duct banks, site lighting, utility infrastructure, or related commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to develop accurate project estimates.
โ€ข Perform quantity takeoffs and enter estimating data into company estimating software.
โ€ข Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) and coordinate pricing efforts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
โ€ข Analyze project scope, labor requirements, equipment needs, and material costs to develop competitive bids.
โ€ข Collaborate with estimating, operations, project management, and field teams to validate assumptions and pricing strategies.
โ€ข Review vendor and subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements.
โ€ข Assist with project budgeting, proposal preparation, and bid submission activities.
โ€ข Support multiple estimating efforts simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
โ€ข Minimum 4+ years of experience estimating electrical construction, utility, infrastructure, commercial, or industrial projects.
โ€ข Experience supporting projects involving underground electrical systems, dry utilities, duct banks, site lighting, conduit systems, or related infrastructure.
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
โ€ข Experience developing takeoffs, material lists, labor estimates, and project cost analyses.
โ€ข Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
โ€ข Experience reviewing vendor and subcontractor bids and supporting procurement efforts.
โ€ข Experience with Bluebeam or similar estimating/document review platforms preferred.
โ€ข Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
